We had an awesome time in class yesterday. The letter of Jesus Christ to the Church as Sardis is rich in describing the characteristics of a dead church. If anyone grew up in a church like that you’ll know what I mean. We get caught up in man’s issues and exclude God. I thank God that even in those churches there is still a remnant of faithful and I pray that He will resurrect them. Breath on the coals, Holy Spirit, and fan them into a flame!
We then studied the Church at Philadelphia, how they had little power but because they were willing to step out in the power that they had from the Holy Spirit that Jesus gave them an open door to witness and minister to the world – even to hostile Jews who repented and were saved. What an awesome testimony they had. It reminds me of all the Jewish believers I’ve known in our church over the years. Lord, let us be a Philadelphian church!
Here are the files for this week. I hope you enjoy them.
God Bless,
Gary
