Week 3 was a very interesting study. The church at Pergamum succumbed to the pressure from the pagan world around it and became compromised and worldly. This was taken to a new level at the church at Thyatira which tolerated a false teacher in their midst and became polluted by pagan idolatry and immorality. While we may not see as vivid examples of error today, that may be only because we are blinded by the myths or heresies of our generation, materialism, secularism and moral relativity.
